The interesting thing is that you mouth does actually think it’s burning when you eat spicy ingredients, there’s also an explanation as to why the spice associated with black pepper is so different to the spice of something like wasabi.

Chef Pierre Troisgros has died at the age of 92. The legendary chef was one of the pioneers of nouvelle cuisine, and at his Maison Troisgros restaurant in Roanne, France, he was able to change French gastronomy.
