A Michelin–starred chef will be opening a restaurant on the 12th floor of a 96–story skyscraper at 432 Park Avenue in midtown Manhattan. The catch is, only residents can eat there.
The as yet unnamed 432 Park Avenue restaurant will be helmed by Shaun Hergatt, formerly of New York’s Juni, and will command an entire floor, including a terrace and a lounge, The New York Times reports. The tower is open but still under construction, and when completed will be the third tallest building in the US and the tallest residential building in the Western Hemisphere.
Ultra–Exclusive
However, with these new build apartments commanding tens of millions of dollars, the restaurant is about as exclusive as it gets, and if you’re paying that much for a luxury home in New York you’d expect this kind of service on your doorstep. Residents will be asked to pay £3,500 annually for the restaurant's upkeep, according to this report.
Trend
Similar private restaurants can be found at 15 Central Park West, also in Manhattan, and at Oceana Key Biscane in Florida. We’ll stick to the countless other great restaurants in New York, unless someone would like to extend an invite? Or at least lend us a utility bill for proof of address.
