Quinoa has become extremely popular in the past few years as more and more health conscious consumers opt to buy the South American grain for their kitchens.
There’s a number of uses for Quinoa in the kitchen, but did you know that the grain has actually been used to produce whiskey?
The Corsair Distillery in America have produced a quinoa based whiskey which the say gives the drink an earth, nutty flavour.
The whiskey is distilled using red and white quinoa grains at the distillery in Nashville and has received a number of awards, most notably, picking up silver at the New York International Spirits Competition.
Rather than just being faux-meat, Mamu is different. It's a mushroom-based meat alternative that's getting its launch in restaurants so that chefs can test its versatility. Flora Tsapovsky investigates.
