Finally, there's a new way of getting a hold of a Cronut that doesn't involve standing in line at the crack of dawn. Pastry chef extraordinaire Dominque Ansel, the inventor of the doughnut-croissant hybrid,  has announced an online pre-order system for his irresistible pastries.
Beginning on Monday at 11 am. (Eastern time) customers will be able to reserve up to half a dozen Cronuts two weeks in advance. Unfortunately, this new service doesn't offer delivery so customers will still have to make the trip down to his SoHo bakery. But, hey, it still beats standing in line for hours!
The pre-order service is just the latest tweaks Ansel has been giving his bakery. Last month, the chef announced the addition of a hot chocolate cart that would make rounds while customers wait in line.
The bakery debuts a new Cronut flavor each month so we are sure eager to see what will follow November's salted dulce de leche deliciousness.
