This meant trying to live of a food budget of just $29 and the celeb started the week positively with a picture of her food budget, however, at day four she says she decided to stop the challenge.
She wrote on her blog: “As I suspected, we only made it through about four days, when I personally broke and had some chicken and fresh vegetables (and in full transparency, half a bag of black licorice).”
“My perspective has been forever altered by how difficult it was to eat wholesome, nutritious food on that budget, even for just a few days — a challenge that 47 million Americans face every day, week, and year.”
The star got a bit of stick when she announced she was taking the challenge and many people said the food she picked with her budget was wrong for what was she needed. Whatever people said there’s no denying that the Paltrow taking the challenge has highlighted an issue that many people struggle with every day.
Staff shortages are hitting the hospitality sector hard, prompting some restaurants to look outside the industry to train those without restaurant experience for life in the kitchen. Andrew Friedman finds out more.
