Your eyes are too big for your belly one of those terms shouting at greedy children everywhere, but it's not just children is it? We all over eat from time to time, or look at a menu and convince ourself we should order one more starter but a new pair of goggles aims to stop all this.
Developed by a team at the University of Tokyo the augmented reality goggles show users food through a magnified lens. By making food on the plate look much bigger than it actually is the brain is tricked into feeling fuller much quicker.
It's amazing that such a simple trick can work but the researchers behind the goggles claim that people ate 10% less when their food was magnified by 50%. The goggles can be seen in action below.
