'Kart' is a family of playful wooden serving dishes on wheels, designed by Ed Carpenter for the French collective Y'a Pas Le Feu Au Lac. The series, together with the 2012 collection,has just been presented at Milan Design Week.
Roll one to a friend, to share the bread, butter or snacks: the variety of shapes and sizes of these serving dishes are ideal for hors d'oeuvres. The simple design puts the food centre-stage, while encouraging interaction and sharing across the dinner table.
Rather than just being faux-meat, Mamu is different. It's a mushroom-based meat alternative that's getting its launch in restaurants so that chefs can test its versatility. Flora Tsapovsky investigates.
