Rick Stein in India: The BBC has confirmed that celebrity TV chef, Rick Stein, will be launching a new TV food show centered on Indian cuisine.
FDL heard about the story thanks to our great Twitter followers and spent some time trying to confirm it with the BBC. A BBC spokesperson told FDL: "Rick Stein will be doing a new series for us about Indian food. It's still early days so we don't have any more info at the moment".
His recent show Spain, which aired in July 2011, averaged 2.45 million viewers taking a 10% share of the TV audience. The celebrity chef, who is famous for The Seafood Restaurant in Cornwall, has already wowed food fans with his travels through France, Malaysia, Thailand and many more locations.
There's lots of talk online about the new show with speculation pointing towards a working title of 'In Search of the Perfect Curry'. Whatever it's called and in whatever guise it presents itself, looking at figures from his last few TV shows, his latest venture through India is sure to be a success.
