The search for the world's best sommelier kicks off on March 27th in Tokyo.
The A.S.I. Contest of the Best Sommelier of the World is made up of contestants from over fifty countries who will all compete at the Grand Prince Hotel for the quarter and semi-finals before moving onto the International Forum for the grand finals.
The finals will take place in front of an audience of 5,000 people with the final contestants completing a range of challenges to show of their sommelier skills.
The awards are now in their 14th year with official sponsorship from a range of companies including San Pellegrino &Acqua Panna. Organizers say they expect to launch a new website dedicated to the 2013 competition very soon.
