If you have a taste for the high life, where better than to spend sunset than with a cocktail in hand admiring city skyline views from one of the best rooftop bars in the world!
Whether in Singapore or San Diego, Bangkok or Barcelona, look no further than The Rooftop Guide, to find out the highest, funkiest, biggest and most breath taking rooftop bars listed in the online guide.
Founded in 2015 by Hans Ebenman and Rikard Fredricson, the duo have managed to rack up, and report on, 700 rooftop bars in just two years, making them the go to guys for what's hot and sky high when new in town.
We asked Hans what makes a good rooftop bar, in their experience: "The most important elements for us are a spectacular view, comfortable seats and a good atmosphere. It's an extra plus if the rooftop is equipped with a luxurious rooftop infinity pool. It doesn’t need to be located on the highest floor. Sometimes a rooftop bar located among (instead of on top) of the buildings can create an even more spectacular view."
While a touristy vibe, bad service, over priced drinks and too many people are a few of the things that turn the duo off, they admit "our favorite time to visit a rooftop is during lunchtime or early afternoon. The vibe is much more relaxed and the rooftops are almost never over crowded during these times."
From their wealth of experience, they gave us their top 10 favourite rooftop bars around the world, along with why, here's their line-up:
