Restaurant Ki is an intimate 10-seat fine dining restaurant tucked away in a basement space in Los Angeles' Little Tokyo. Opened by chef Ki Kim in January 2025, the restaurant quickly became one of the city's most sought-after reservations, earning a MICHELIN star just six months after opening.
The tasting-menu experience blends Korean flavors with global techniques, resulting in a meal that feels both deeply personal and difficult to categorize. While the menu evolves over time, Kim avoids wholesale seasonal overhauls, preferring to refine dishes and maintain momentum rather than constantly reinventing the experience.
Signature dishes include the restaurant's crispy octopus, grilled lobster tail, sweet shrimp bugak, and delicate noodle course with Dungeness crab. Dessert often features Kim's porcini ice cream sandwich, one of the restaurant's most recognizable offerings. Throughout the meal, ingredients take center stage, reflecting Kim's belief that exceptional cooking begins with exceptional products.
The dining room mirrors that philosophy. Minimalist interiors, a marble chef's counter, and close interaction with the kitchen create a calm and intimate atmosphere where guests enjoy direct engagement with Kim and his team throughout the evening.
In addition to the food, Restaurant Ki offers a thoughtfully curated sake and wine program selected with the same attention to sourcing and craftsmanship found in the kitchen. Together, the food, beverage, and hospitality create an experience rooted in precision, restraint, and genuine care for the guest.
