Milan, a (Vegan) City Tasting Tour
The city of Milan, which in recent months has been the international food capital with Expo Milano 2015, has established itself as a city that is always attuned to food trends and styles of consumption: 100% vegetarian cuisine is no exception, winning a major spot in the panoply of Milan’s dining options.
It is no accident that the latest issue of The Vegan magazine (we have mentioned it here before) presents Italy as the “Paradise of the Vegan”: anyone who likes their food without animal ingredients will easily find a favourite spot for exploring Milan’s vegan tastes.
From the traditional Italian trattoria to the Michelin-starred restaurants, by way of take-away and artisanal gelato shops, here is a little guide to the spots that Fine Dining Lovers tried out for you:

The first vegetarian restaurant in Europe to win a Michelin star, in 1996, Chef Pietro Leeman’s restaurant features natural, vegan and vegetarian haute cuisine in an elegant ambience with impeccable service.
Be sure to try: “Serendipity in the garden of my dreams”, little gluten-free potato gnocchi with roast-tomato sauce.
A place with a welcoming atmosphere with a menu featuring raw vegan plates, where the tradition of Italian cuisine meets flavours and spices from distant lands. The list of vegan, organic and biodynamic wines is outstanding.
Be sure to try: Savoy cabbage rolls filled with tempeh.

This is the restaurant of the more famous school of natural, macro-organic-vegan cooking in Milan, founded by former U.S. basketball champion Martin Halse. Open only for lunch, it offers a delivery service as well.
Be sure to try: the lavish Sunday brunch buffet.
VEGAN FAST FOOD AND TAKE AWAY IN MILAN

JUICE & VEGAN RAW FOOD
This historic Milanese gelato shop has a counter piled high with fresh fruit and vegetables for preparing excellent smoothies (including with soy milk), centrifuged and extracted juices, to be eaten on Milan’s main shopping street.
Be sure to try: the apple, carrot, ginger and lemon centrifuged juice.
For anyone arriving in or departing from Milan, a little corner where you can find fresh fruits and centrifuged juices to be eaten on site or while travelling.
Be sure to try: the travel basket, with a fresh salad, a sandwich and centrifuged juice.
