The first edition of 50 Top Italy, the online guide dedicated to the best of Italian cuisine outside of Italy has been released with The Best Italian Restaurants in the World 2019, a worldwide map of restaurants serving Italy's finest cuisine outside of Italy.
The restaurant evaluations were conducted by 350 anonymous inspectors around the globe, coordinated by Guido Barendson, assessing the gastronomic offering, highlighting the restaurant's ability to offer a cross-section of Italian culture, with an offer 2.0, capable of remaining anchored to tradition, while opening up to new horizons and influences.
Passerini restaurant, in Paris tops the list with Roman chef Giovanni Passerini, long engaged in this adventure across the border.
On the second step, Don Alfonso 1890, in Toronto, while the third position goes to Heinz Beck, in Tokyo. Two restaurants signed by two important names in Italian haute cuisine.
Restaurant Acquarello in Munich is in fourth position, and - to follow - 8 ½ Bombana in Hong Kong, by chef Umberto Bombana, in fifth position.
Europe boasts the most entries, with a total of 18 restaurants, to follow, North America with 16 addresses (14 in the United States and 2 in Canada), then Asia, with a total of ten.
As for the other continents, there are 3 addresses listed in Latin America (2 in Brazil and 1 in Mexico), 1 in Australia, 1 in South Africa, 1 in the United Arab Emirates.
