1. Restaurant 181, Munich

Munich is awash with high end eateries but non come close to the heady heights of the Olympic tower 181 which quite literally tops them all. At a staggering 181 metres above the city, hence the name, Chef Otto Koch serves various menu options. Try the sunset menu (from 6pm to 8pm) to take in the best of the views, where a serving a three-course prix fixe will set you back 54 euros and includes dishes like veal carpaccio or burrata, braised beef and gnocchi and ceps. 2. Sky City at the Needle, Seattle, USA 

Located at 500 feet, SkyCity takes the title of the world’s oldest revolving restaurant, although it is in the process  of getting a futuristic upgrade, take a look at what's planned.

The culinary team, led by Executive Chef Jeff Maxfield, uses local ingredients to create Pacific Northwest cuisine. From wild seafood caught on American vessels to mushrooms, berries, and nettles.  An observation deck visit is complimentary with dinner.

Taking the title of the highest revolving restaurant in the world at 3,500 meters above sea level or 11,482 feet this Swiss restaurant lets diners take in awe inspiring views of the mountain peaks. It takes one hour to do a full rotation which should be ample time to polish off a rosti.
