Cycling and cafe culture are big in many European cities, resulting in relaxed urban style cycle cafes. Appealing to a range of two wheel users from commuters to cycle couriers, anyone with a love of two wheels and good coffee will feel right at home.

Camaraderie aside they're a great place to get advice and bike repairs done, pick up any cycling accessories, and perhaps equally if not more importantly, appreciate some quality refreshments.

Whilst you don't have to be clad in lycra to enjoy a coffee, arriving on two wheels will certainly make you feel one of the gang. So whether the incentive is some home-made cake and a cup of joe, or just an excuse to get your bike fixed over a brew, here are some top European cycle cafes where you can do just that.

7 European Cycle Cafes

1. Vélocité Café, Lisbon (Main Photo)

One of Lisbon's original cycle repair shops, this relaxed hangout branched into food and drink appealing to locals and tourists alike. Natural juices, craft beers and an eclectic healthy menu taste all the better for the discount that is given to anyone arriving on two wheels.

2. Rapha Cycle Club, Various Worldwide

Rapha, the retro-styled UK cycle-clothing brand, has taken its winning formula of stylish threads and thoughtful fare around the world, from San Francisco to Sydney, with plenty more global openings scheduled, making it a home from home for travelling cyclists.

3. Look Mum, No Hands - London, Various Locations

Started by Tour de France fanatics this is the place to be during the world's most important cycling event. However it's not just for die-hard speed fiends in lycra but equally popular for pit stops from thirsty commuters, and hipsters and families come the weekend.

4. Roll for the Soul, Bristol

Part-funded by a crowdfunding campaign, the buzzing bright hangout is a non-profit cafe serving Bristol's cyclists with locally-roasted coffee, local beers and a simple food menu. There's even yoga and live music for cyclists.

5. Upcyle, Milan

Communal tables surrounded by decor including handlebars and pedals lend themselves easily to a relaxed breakfast, reading a book or computer work. Once you've dined you might even summon up the strength to repair you bike yourself with the free tools for customer use. Brunch is also a good incentive on Saturday and Sunday.

6. Bianchi Cafes and Cycles, Various in Europe

Prestigious bike brand Bianchi may call Italy home, but these days it's equally popular in Stockholm, where extra emphasis is put on the buffet lunch of cold dishes and warm pasta.

7. Keirin Cycle Culture Cafe, Berlin

Cyclists are in safe hands at this serious one stop shop with a resident mechanic able to fix your flat tyre while you re-fuel on good coffee and browse the accessories and vintage bikes.
