Czech Cuisine, Back to the Future
This week on Fine Dining Lovers we travelled to Prague in the Czech Republic to meet with a chef who intent on changing people's attitudes regarding Czech cuisine.
We had an interview with chef Oldřich Sahajdák from the one Michelin starred La Degustation restaurant in Prague's Old Town.
Sahajdák is using an 18th century cook book to try and revive classic Czech cooking within a modern style. In the interview he spoke about his work at the restaurant and how he looks to places like Copenhagen as inspiration for what can happen with Czech cuisine in Prague.
City Tasting Tour
From Prague we stopped by Manhattan to soak up some of the best food spots on offer in the area.
From Sake stops to espressos, cocktails, homemade sodas and New York Whiskey, once refreshed we took a look at some of the tasty food treats in Manhattan.
Meats, cheeses, vegetables and fruits, smoky artisanal BBQ sauces and amazing Jewish desserts. If you're heading to Manhattan and want some suggestions on where to stop, we suggest you take a look at this guide.
Vermouth Back in Style
To finish the week we took a look at Vermouth, an Italian drink that after 30 years of anonymity has suddenly been thrust into the spotlight.
With the rise of the mixologist and art of the cocktail - drinks such as gin and vermouth find themselves in the centre of a resurgence.
We also looked at how you can experiment with making your own vermouth at home and offered up a great recipe for Martini made with vermouth and gin.
