The Vienna Vegetable Orchestra
It’s a rare sight, but one that you’ll never forget. An 11-piece orchestra made up entirely of fresh produce, which changes according to seasonal availability. A celery guitar, a carrot flute, a bass drum made from a melon. These musicians don’t play in order to make some kind of “statement”, they play for the pure musical fun of it. Check out the photo gallery of the Vienna Vegetable Orchestra and if you’re curious, here’s a link with a list of their upcoming gigs.

A ritual that has remained largely unchanged since its beginnings in 1890. For a taste of what lunchtime looks like in Mumbai, take a look at the FDL photo gallery.
