The old saying suggests that you'll never find inspiration staring into the bottom of glass but it's certainly not the case when it comes to this next set of pictures from the photographer Ernie Button.
That's because Ernie has created this unique set of pictures titled Vanishing Spirits. Although at first glance they may look like far flung galaxies and planets they are in fact images taken from the bottom of Scotch glasses after the drink has evaporated.
As the drink evaporates in the glass it leaves behind a sediment that creates a unique set of colors and textures that Ernie has captured for the series.
The textures are eventually brought to life through shining different colored lights on the bottom of the glass to highlight the unique patterns made by the residue.
