The Michelin Guide to Belgium & Luxembourg 2022 has been unveiled with the addition of one new three-star restaurant, three new two-stars and 16 new one-star establishments.
Both Belgium and Luxembourg’s culinary excellence was duly awarded with a guide that included a total of 841 restaurants, including 141 starred restaurants and 147 Bib Gourmands. The big winner from the announcement was Boury in Roeselare, with a third star awarded, meaning the restaurant joins the very best in the region alongside Zilte in Antwerp and Hof van Cleve in Kruisem.
This is the second year in a row a third star was dished out with the Michelin Guide citing chef Tim Boury’s invention and execution.
“The evolution of Tim Boury is fascinating to follow. His ideas impress, the execution surprises time and again. He spares no expense to impress," said a statement from Michelin.
A Green Star for sustainability was awarded to chef Thomas Troupin of restaurant Toma in Liège who was also awarded a Michelin star.
