Will drinking a beverage called Butterfly make you sing like Mariah Carey? One can only hope!
The "melodic" pink drink released by the Grammy-winning songstress is packaged in a curvaceous bottle and comes on the heels of her new album Me. I Am Mariah... The Elusive Chanteuse.
Although Carey has had a love affair with champagne for ages, Butterfly isn't carbonated. So what's in it? The ingredients include water, sugar, sodium benzoate, sucralose and colorings including Red 40 and Blue 1, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Butterfly is available exclusively through Walgreens for $1.99. The description on the bottle sounds pretty inspiring: “Butterfly gives everyone something new to sing about. Let this melodic blend of sophisticated sweetness lift you to your high notes every day that you pamper yourself with a sip of Butterfly inspired by Mariah Carey.”
We haven't taste it yet (they were sold out at our local Walgreen's) but the team at People gave it a whirl. The verdict? Some said it tasted like ''gummy bears'' and "unicorn tears.'' Hmmm...
Perhaps Carey's original Butterfly track will get you in the mood for her elixir:
