If you want to ensure your meat is cooked to perfection, everytime, whether cooked in a pan, in the oven, or on the grill with the help of a little technology your dreams might just be about to come true. Meater is the first intelligent wireless thermometer that simultaneously measures both the temperature of the food and that of the environment, thanks to two extremely sensitive and technological sensors.
How to Use Meater
The wireless thermometer, distributed in Italy by iPerGO, is both practical and simple to use. First of all the pen like probe is inserted into the meat, and the Meater App opened on a smart phone.
At this point, the application the type of meat being cooked to be selected, from beef and pork to lamb and fish - the cut and your cooking preference, to then provide a precise estimate of the time needed to cook it.
Thus allowing the cook to be in total control, enough so to leave the kitchen without compromising their final cook. Bluetooth users will need to stay at a distance of about 10 meters from the oven, pan or gas grill and 3 meters from the smoker and barbeque, while by connecting the device to a WiFi network or the Cloud cooks can still be in touch even further away.
Here's how it works:
The Meater thermometer is made of stainless steel and contains two sensors that measure the temperature of the meat (max 100 ° C) and the temperature of the surrounding environment (max 275 ° C), or the source of the heat. It remains charged for around 24 hours and can be recharged on it wooden base.
Staff shortages are hitting the hospitality sector hard, prompting some restaurants to look outside the industry to train those without restaurant experience for life in the kitchen. Andrew Friedman finds out more.
