Who says you need a fancy equipment to press tofu? If you've got a few plates on hand and a kitchen towel you'll be able to produce firmer tofu in just minutes. Pressed tofu possesses a a lovely texture that enhances stir fry recipes and veggie burgers. It's an easy technique that yields excellent results, especially if you enjoy baked tofu. Here's how to do it:
HOW TO PRESS TOFU
Pierce the package of tofu and drain all the liquid.
Remove the tofu from the package and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel (or several paper towels).
Place on a large plate and cover with a small stack of plates (or a heavy can or similar object).
Press the tofu for at least 15 minutes, unwrap and prepare as desired.
