Chef Alain Ducasse is to cut his ties with the Adour restaurant inside the St Regis Hotel in Washington after five years working with the restaurant.
The French chef, who this year was awarded The Lifetime Achievement Award by The World's 50 Best Restaurants list, announced the closure of his New York Adour restaurant at the St Regis back in October 2012.
The Adour in Washington will serve its last meals on the May 31st. Ducasse marks the third celebrity chef to leave Washington D.C in less than a year, with Eric Ripert at The Westend Bistro and Susar Lee at Zentan both leaving their ventures.
The hotel plans to reopen with a new restaurant on June 21st. Called Decanter, it will be operated by chef Sebastien Rondier who has worked under Duccasse management for 13 years. The restaurant will offer up dishes with influences from Spain, Turkey, Italy and the south of France.
