Nut butters are more popular than ever but they are also incredibly expensive. Which begs the question: have you tried making your own? A great way to venture into this tasty territory is by making cashew butter at home.
Cashews have a high fat content (the good kind of fat) which makes them easy to puree. However, the addition of a small amount of vegetable oil facilitates the grinding process so you end up with a smooth and creamy buttery spread with a natural hint of sweetness.
Making cashew butter is as easy as popping all of the ingredients into a food processor and blending until smooth. You may use cashews that are salted, roasted or raw - it's all up to your personal preferences.
