Ingredients

Chickpeas: 400 g (2 tins), drained

Hazelnuts: 200 g, chopped

Onion: 2 each, grated

Carrots: 4 each, grated

Red pepper: 1, deseeded and diced

Thyme: 5 ml, chopped

Eggs: 1, beaten

Cumin: 5 ml, ground

Coriander: 5 ml, ground

All purpose flour: 15 ml

Salt: To taste

Pepper: To Taste

Oil: 60 ml

Preparation
  • Heat the grill.
  • In a mixing bowl, mash the chickpeas with the other ingredients, except the oil.
  • Shape the mixture into 6-8 burgers and chill for 1 hour. 
  • Place on the grill pan.
  • Brush each with oil and grill for 2-3 minutes until lightly browned.
  • Carefully turn the burgers over, brush with more oil and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
