Two Internet phenomena come together in this video by MrBeast when the crew visit Salt Bae’s New York steakhouse for ridiculously priced gold steaks.
YouTube sensation MrBeast, who has made a career of eating the most expensive food he can find, paid a visit to fellow Internet sensation and living meme Salt Bae’s New York restaurant to sample high-end Kobe beef and, of course, gold-covered steak.
“This is the most expensive restaurant we can find,” says MrBeast (aka Jimmy Donaldson). “And if I don’t spend $10,000 dollars here all of you can punch me in the face”. It sets it up nicely as the three friends order “one of everything” from the Salt Bae menu.
While Mr. Bae (aka Nusret Gökçe) isn’t at the restaurant on the night, MrBeast and friends enjoy a range of absurdly-priced steaks, served by staff with Bae’s signature slicing and chopping moves, To top it all off, they pick a few restaurant customers and send them complimentary gold-covered steaks.
MrBeast pays the $10,000 bill with credit card but counts out a wad of cash for the tip, which the staff gratefully accept. With over 80 million views of this video, there is some serious interest in this type of eating. Salt Bae continues to shrug off any effects of the pandemic and welcomes back big-spending meat-eaters to his restaurants around the world.
