The Michelin Guide Netherlands 2022 has been announced, with the addition of three new two-star restaurants and 10 restaurants receiving one star for the first time. Three Green stars were awarded to restaurants for sustainability.
The Netherlands’ culinary scene continues to go from strength to strength and has been recognised by the guide with new additions, bringing the total of stars in the country to 117.
In the top tier of three Michelin stars, the Netherlands' two flagship restaurants, De Librije, by chef Jonnie Boer, and Inter Scaldes, by chef Jannis Brevet, retained their status. The restaurants that garnered two stars for the first time included De Nieuwe Winkel, in Nijmegen, by chef Emile van der Staak; Flore, in Amsterdam, by chef Bas van Kranen (which also earned a Green star); and finally, Julemont, located in Wittem Castle, which is run by chef Guido Breaken.
