
Vinitaly 2018: The World's Biggest Wine Fair Returns
Over 30 countries will exhibit the best of their wine producers to an audience of over 100,000 visitors from around the world in Verona from 15 to 18 April.
April will have been etched into the diaries of most wine lovers for a while but for those few not yet in the know, this is the month that signals the return of the biggest global enogastronomic event in the calendar: Vinitaly.
This year the historic city of Verona, Italy welcomes the 52nd edition of the largest International Wine & Spirits Exhibition in the world from 15 to 18 April.
For three days Veronafiere will become the hub of all that's hot and happening in the world of wine, attracting producers and wine lovers from all over the world for three days of tasting and discovery. Last year saw 4,300 exhibitors from 30 countries attracting a whopping 128 thousand visitors from 141 countries. This year looks set to be equally internationally appealing.
Wines from Croatia to Georgia will exhibit alongside old and new world wine producers from France, Spain, Portugal, Azerbaijan, Argentina, Australia, Hungary, United States as well as spaces dedicated to increasingly popular organic, biodynamic and artisanal wines. Spirits also feature including some global flavours like liquor from Ethiopia, Pisco from Peru and Japanese sake.
Naturally, food will also be given serious attention with plenty of exciting regional foods to try, from cured meats to olive oil, masterclasses, show cooking and chef lunches. In the D'Autore restaurant a changing rota of great Italian chefs like Enrico Bartolini will cook a special menu for the occasion.
