Wylie Dufresne, the genius chef behind New York City's wd-50, will open his second restaurant next week. Grub Street reports the chef will debut Alder, a 56-seat pub-style restaurant located in the city's East Village neighborhood. It will open on Thursday, March 28th.
The much-anticipated restaurant will be a casual eatery that won't require reservations. It will offer ''kooky, avant-garde renditions of dishes like clam chowder, Ceasar salad, and chicken liver toast.''
Alder will be open for dinner from Wednesday through Sunday. The restaurant's website has gone live but a menu has yet to be posted.
