We've looked at the life of barrels before on FDL. After being used for brewing many of them end up going on to a new home for a new use entirely - some re broken down for scrap, the lucky ones become plant pots at Alines and some, like this whiskey barrel, are turned into guitars.
Called 1608, it's a collaboration between the musician Justin Vernon and the guitar builder Gordy Bischoff.
