Check out this athletes drink holder made to reduce the excessive waste during marathons created by Ultra Aspire.
The company claim that on average during a 5K run a runner consumes around 3 paper cups of water (sounds quite low to us). Using this equation the team behind the reusable cup design claim that a marathon with 5,000 runners would see around 55,000 paper cups - a huge amount of waste.
WIth this figure in mind the company designed these nifty plastic cups that can be packed into a tiny space and reused again and again.
It holds 6oz of water and could be a great if also used at festivals and other large scale gatherings.
