Following on from the success of last year's inaugural MENA's 50 Best list, this year is again a celebration of the diversity of cuisine and cultures across North Africa and the Middle East. Fine dining continues to evolve across the countries in the region as chefs find new creative expressions of their ancient culinary traditions. 

Individual awards have been already given out in the run-up to MENA’s 50 Best Restaurants 2023, including One to Watch, MENA’s Best Female Chef and the Icon Award.

Plant-based Tel Aviv restaurant Opa is the One to Watch, while the region’s Best Female Chef 2023 is Salam Dakkak. The Icon Award was given to Anissa Helou, the prolific Lebanese writer who is educating the world on Middle Eastern cuisine and cultures.
