Burrata and mozzarella are two of our favourite Italian cheeses, but did you know they’re relatively simple to make at home?
We’ve collected a series of videos that show the best of these two Italian cheeses from the South of Italy, including some tasty ways to serve them. Find out how to make burrata and mozzarella below.
How to make Burrata and Mozzarella
The first video recipe below shows you how to make basic basic burrata and mozzarella – the former of course is essentially the latter with a creamy middle. These are the ingredients you’ll need (you may want to add more cream than they suggest though to get a more liquid centre):
- Raw cow's milk
- Vegetable rennet
- Raw cream
- Citric acid
- Kosher salt
And here’s how it’s made in Puglia, Italy, the home of Burrata.
Next up is Chefsteps with a slightly different burrata recipe that makes use of a siphon to insert the creamy filling into the mozzarella.
