Salt and pepper shakers have undergone constant makeovers - there are literally hundreds of designs, shapes, sizes and almost every possible theme has undergone the shaker treatment.
The latest to step into the mix are these cork based salt and pepper shakers from the Japanese designer Oki Sato who created the pieces for the Portuguese cork house Materia.
The idea is the the cork piece creates an airtight seal which protects the salt and pepper contained in the top and keeps it fresh for longer.
Rather than just being faux-meat, Mamu is different. It's a mushroom-based meat alternative that's getting its launch in restaurants so that chefs can test its versatility. Flora Tsapovsky investigates.
