A concept for a 3D printer that produces burritos has been created by student Marko Manriquez for his masters thesis project. Called The Burrito Bot, a website has been created for the food printing creation with the designer looking for donations to take the design into the production process.
The idea is meant to highlight the way in which focus on certain foods is centered around them being fast and simple to produce.
Where does our food come from and what kinds of chemicals are in our foods are two questions the student is looking to address with the Burritobot process.
It's an interesting concept and the choice of Mexican food has been made to highlight people's attitudes towards it as a fast food, something which is a false authenticity. It's an interested idea and one that is looking to address strong issues in attitudes towards food.
