Cocktail Lovers Prepare For the Arrival of The Dead Rabbit's First Drinks Manual

Ranking 2nd in the 2015 list of The World’s 50 Best Bars, The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog, New York is set to release its first ever cocktail ‘manual.'

Written by the award winning bar's co-owner Sean Muldoon and fellow Belfast native Jack McGarry along with PR front man Ben Schaffer 'The Dead Rabbit Drinks Manual: Secret Recipes and Barroom Tales from Two Belfast Boys Who Conquered the Cocktail World' is due to publish on October 13th.

Whilst the title might be a mouthful it is also an accurate description of the manual's contents which are part personal reflection, part recipe book along with interior shots of the famous bar.

A 50 page autobiographical introduction gives amusing insight into the bartender boy's arrival in the States and their ensuing slippery slope to success. A further 11 chapters enter recipe territory following a time line of historically inspired drinks across the mid-19th and early-20th centuries. Intriguing chapter titles include "Fixes and Daisies," "Cups and Cobblers," "Juleps and Smashes," "Flips," "Possets," and "Nogs" with even a whole chapter dedicated to absinthe.

A peek inside the book highlights inventive and old fashioned cocktails:

If you've never been to The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog the book gives insightful photos into the interior.

If you are a dedicated mixologist this is probably the one cocktail book you have been waiting for.

To pick up your copy head to Amazon, Barnes & Noble or IndieBound.

A nice video showing insight into the bar:
