It’s actually perfectly fine and often seen as a more suitable way to eat sushi in Japan using your hands, this allows perfect grip on what you’re eating and also a more precise dip into the trusty soy sauce.
As you can see from the video, sushi should be dipped fish first into any condiments and also placed that way on the tongue.
