Jacques Pépin received a much deserved Lifetime Achievement Emmy award and while the French chef star of daytime TV has picked up a long list of accolades throughout the course of his career, he has 24 James Beard Awards to his name already as well as an Emmy for co-hosting a series with Julia Child, this is the first time someone from the culinary field has received a this award.
Pépin has hosted many shows on PBS over the years and is credited with inspiring several generations of chefs to cook by demonstrating French kitchen craft on US television. Pépin’s talent as a chef, coupled with his natural gifts as a broadcaster and presenter have given the French man a special place in the pantheon of US television entertainers.
