It’s time for the week’s foodie round-up here in Milan and it seems like at this year’s Salone del Mobile culinary projects have been more present than ever. From utility to taste, here follows our selection of the week’s most inspiring appearances.
The week opened on the 8th with an exotic food installation by Massimiliano Alajamo & I am Kombo for Moroso and Kvadrat, continued with the first Milanese presence of Fernando Laposse at MeetMyProject and went on with several imaginative product presentations, like the ones of Studio Lav, Studio Lievito and the cute cupcake rings of Marina Calamai.
Arabeschi di Latte’s kitchen library with Karimoku and Fortino editions went on for the entire week, while in the city center, ice-cream was everywhere from Matteo Cibic’s “gelato alla Milanese” to the event of Gnambox taking place today in Fabbrica del Vapore.
Via Tortona and the Brera district put up their own food experiences, the first on the streets and the second in some of the area’s most sophisticated restaurants, with recipes invented appositely for the week. Interesting food talks took place in several locations, like for example the Senses and Tastes talk of Interni magazine, with the participation of the likes of Christophe Pillet and Davide Oldani. More is left for the next 3 days: the all time classic Saturday and Sunday brunch at Rossana Orlandi, the show cooking of Gnambox with Mini Cooper, in Via Tortona and several new products to see across zona Ventura, like for instance the recent workd of Studio Lav.
