At first glance this may seem like a photograph, a beautiful one at that, however, it's actually the work of the 3D painter Keng Lye who creates his wonderful creation using paint, resin and his wonderful imagination.
Much of the artist's work includes fish swimming in bowls and the sheer details and lifelike nature of the picture series, titled Alive Without Breath, is astonishing.
Below is a selection of Lye's work in which you can see the immense detail he manages to paint. The 3D elements of the pictures, in which elements extrude from the surface, are actually created using eggs, pebbles and other materials that help to give an ultra lifelike look to the finished pieces.
We have no idea how he manages to create the wonderful reflections and shine of the water - truly amazing work. You can see more of the artist's work here.
