The Pizza Pilgrims
This week FDL met with a very interesting set of brothers who have started their very own Neapolitan pizza business in London.
Called the Pizza Pilgrims it's the story of two brothers who set out across Italy at just 20 miles an hour in a three wheeler van.
While their they sampled some of the best pizzas the country has to offer, met a number of producers and created a recipe book of their travels.
They'll also be appearing at this year's Taste of London food festival.
Girotonno
We also decided to travel a little this week and headed off to the South of Italy. We were at the small Island of Carloforte just of the coast of Sardinia.
While their we took part in the annual Girotonno culinary competition in which chefs from all over the world compete to cook the best plates of tuna.
Luigi Diotaiuti
Always ones to keep up on great chef stories we decided to interview the Italian chef Luigi Diotaiuti who travelled to America, opened a restaurant and joined the American Chef Corps.
He's cooked for an impressive list of clientele including George Clooney, Bill Cosby, Hillary Clinton, Harrison Ford, Wolf Blitzer and the football legend Pelé.
FDL sat down with the chef to discuss his career, his work with the Corps and his childhood growing up in Basilicata in the South of Italy.
