Say you'd really like to make pizza from scratch but you'd rather not bother rolling the dough yourself. Well, you can leave it all up to the Foodini, a cutting-edge kitchen appliance that aims to make 3D food printing a reality in homes across the world.
The Foodini was developed by Barcelona start-up Natural Machinesand it acts like a robot in your kitchen. So far, the machine has been able to make pizza, pumpkin gnocchi and a bean patty, roll and cheese sauce onto a burger. It can also tackle chocolate figures and crackers.
The idea of 3D printed food has been tossed around for a while as a means of feeding astronauts in space. So it's really exciting to see a futuristic machine of this caliber being developed for home cooks. While the machines are still in developmental stages, the BBC reports they cost about 1,000 euros (about $1,369).
