Milk

Beef
1 kg, roughly chopped or minced
Onion
1, skinned and chopped
Garlic
1 clove, chopped
Raisins

Almonds
100 g, shelled
Apricot jam
1 tbsp
Mango chutney
2 tbsp
Lemon juice
25 ml
Curry powder
1 tbsp
Cardamom
1 tbsp
Salt
2 tbsp
Pepper
2 tbsp, freshly ground
Olive oil

Preparation

Soak the bread roll in half of the milk, then squeeze and add to the meat.

Heat the oil in a frying pan and sweat the onion and garlic until soft.

Add the meat and fry slowly for about 10 minutes, until browned on all sides.

Stir in the curry powder, then add the sultanas, almonds, apricot jam, chutney, lemon juice and cardamom, and mix in well.

Remove from the heat and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish (or 4-6 smaller dishes).

Peel and slice the mango.

Peel the banana and slice thickly at an angle.

Lay both on top of the meat mixture in the dish. Beat the eggs with the remaining milk and pour over the meat.

Add the bay leaves and bake in a preheated oven (180°) for 25-30 minutes, until golden brown.
