Marco Pierre White might be one of the most highly decorated chefs to come out of the UK, but that doesn't mean he shies away from good old-fashioned home cooking, sometimes.
In this roundup of videos, he's all about the simplicity of generous cooking, coming up with Sunday favourites like succulent roast chicken and shepherd's pie, to more Mediterranean influenced flavours like ratatouille and greek meatballs.
What all these recipes lack in technical complexity they make up for in flavour, especially when given an extra tweak in the hands of a master.
Take your pick of comfort foods, safe in the knowledge that Marco Pierre White wants to enjoy simple home cooked food too. As he says: "I'm a great believer that when cooking at home it should be made simple."
1. Roast Chicken
Watch as Marco takes on the might of the roast chicken, complete with roasting juices and parsley. First he seasons the cavity of the bird to allow the flavouring to infiltrate the chicken, before massaging the exterior of the bird. His mother in law (who's his favourite cook, by the way) puts a lemon inside to slow down the cooking, to cook from the inside out. So does he.
