Food blogger Jo Cooks has translated this recipe for a ‘Magic Custard Cake’, which goes into the oven as a single batter but bakes into a three-layer cake with a crunchy top layer, a set layer in the middle and a runny custard base.
The blogger Joanna Cismaru (Jo Cooks) posted the cake on Instagram and it has taken off. The recipe is much like a Basque cheesecake and Cismaru discovered it online some years ago, but couldn’t find an English version, so she translated it.
