Public Interest

In a city where power-dining often leans on tradition, Public Interest offers a modern alternative. Located on the iconic K Street corridor, it brings a fresh perspective to the American brasserie by pairing French staples with familiar domestic plates. The setting is designed for the rhythm of contemporary Washington; this is a space that works as well for a business lunch as it does for a more relaxed dinner. The kitchen has become known for dishes like lobster ravioli, seared scallops, and a pistachio herb-crusted halibut. Public Interest channels the energy of its neighborhood, serving as a downtown hub from morning to night. It operates within the Tempo by Hilton, providing a polished destination for both visitors and Washingtonians. The list of offerings, which has included a slow-braised lamb shank and a signature P.I. Burger with gruyère, finds a balance between comforting and refined. The bar complements the food with its own thoughtfully composed beverages, featuring creations like the K-Street Negroni and a Cucumber Collins. From its varied fare to its flexible atmosphere, the restaurant has established itself as a versatile and reliable presence in the heart of the city.
