Pawn Shop - Sports Bar & Kitchen

The name Pawn Shop - Sports Bar & Kitchen suggests not a singular identity, but a collision of several. It is a nod to Brothers Collateral Pawn Shop, the building's former occupant for 40 years. Instead of finding resale items, however, guests discover a sophisticated sports destination. This Hollywood establishment is rewriting the script for what a sports bar can be, pairing the energy of game day with a culinary ambition more aligned with the city's top restaurants. With over 50 screens and private mezzanine suites, it offers an immersive environment for sports fans. The kitchen challenges the conventional definition of bar food, offering a more chef-driven perspective on game-day dining that moves beyond the expected lineup of wings and burgers. Dishes that have appeared on the menu include pickle-brined fried chicken, pan con tomate with smoked tomato and boquerones, and even a surprising pairing of caviar with grilled cheese. Other offerings have included Rhode Island-style calamari, sticky pork spare ribs, and an Italian sandwich layered with capicola, mortadella, prosciutto, and salami. The offerings include both comforting classics and unexpected twists. This dual identity extends to the bar program, which features craft cocktails alongside local beers. The venue transforms a historic 1930s building into a modern gathering space with high ceilings and a 48-seat bar, creating an atmosphere that feels both grand and communal. The result is a clubhouse for those who believe that watching the game should be an event in itself, an occasion that doesn’t require a compromise on the quality of the food or the refinement of the setting.
