LA-based Austrian chef Wolfgang Puck is again over the food for Hollywood’s biggest night of the year, the Oscars party. This is the chef’s 29th year catering for the great and the good on the night of the Academy Awards and he has developed an extensive menu for all tastes, including a section of British classics by young chef Elliott Grover.
Oscars 2023 afterparty: the full menu
Guests attending the Oscars ceremony will have worked up an appetite after the red carpet runs, endless interviews and sitting through the hours-long ceremony itself and will be treated to a dizzying array of dishes by Puck’s catering company at the famed afterparty, the Governors Ball.
The offerings include canapes such as spicy tuna tartare in miso sesame cones, mini wagyu burgers, jalapeno fritters, and vegan soup dumplings, while small plates include cacio e pepe, chicken and waffles, cod bouillabaisse, and a vegan dish of hearts of palm.

There is also a crispy rice bar, and stuffed bao buns and pizza available.
This year, Puck is backed up by British chef Elliott Grover. Puck protégé Grover has worked at London’s Art Deco icon 45 Park Lane and got the chance to cook for Hollywood royalty simply by asking Puck if he could help out.
“I asked if I could go along and Wolfgang said ‘Yes, why not?’” Grover told EliteTraveler. “I thought it was a passing comment, but then two months ago he came to me and said, ‘I want you to make a dish.’”
Grover is including some British classics on the menu including fish and chips, beef wellington, a chicken pie and a classic British trifle with a cherry on top.
“They know steak over there,” he says. “There are a few fish and chip places in the States, but they’re not fantastic. I want to put British food on the map and show that it can be great.”
Grover will join a hundred-strong team from Puck’s catering company to work at the Governors Ball Oscars show afterparty.
