Duke's Burgers

When a restaurant puts its specialty in the name, it sets a clear expectation. Duke's Burgers meets that expectation with its focus on a singular American classic. The Arlington establishment is a spinoff of the well-regarded Duke's Grocery, a Washington, D.C. gastropub known for its East London-inspired fare. This new venture carries forward the reputation for excellent burgers that made its predecessor a neighborhood favorite. The kitchen has become known for the Proper Burger, a mainstay that built the brand's following. It is made with two Angus patties, gouda, pickles, charred red onion, a sweet chili sauce, and aioli on a brioche bun. This signature item speaks to the philosophy of elevating a familiar concept with quality components. The method is straightforward, aiming to create a memorable version of a universally known dish. Beyond the headliner, the list of offerings expands to include other favorites from its sibling location, such as fish and chips and white truffle mac and cheese. This blend of an American staple with British pub classics helps to define the eatery's identity. The casual atmosphere, born from a pub sensibility, reflects a serious commitment to its central offering. Duke's Burgers provides a relaxed setting for a well-made meal built around a simple culinary pleasure.
