Solein: the protein of the future

A Finnish start-up, Solar Foods has invented a new type of food, created from only water, electricity and air. It’s called Solein and is intended to allow astronauts create their own protein on long-haul space flights. It process is similar to brewing beer and it creates a protein which can be dried and used as an ingredient or given texture like bread. It is a completely new type of food.
